First Response
One of the most important responsibilities of government is providing for the safety and security of its citizens. The Seattle Fire Dept. was able to cut triage time in a mass casualty incident to 10 seconds during a drill at the University of Washington campus. Intermec solutions gave them the ability to wirelessly access and update records at the incident scene, enhancing their ability to make informed decisions in emergency and inspection situations.
By providing personnel with instant, wireless access to occupancy data, on-duty rosters, certifications, and hydrant locations as well as incident and EMS information, Intermec helps fire and rescue workers feel safe and efficient. Intermec’s system was a key component in the team's rescue efforts at the U.S. Pentagon on 11 September 2001, and continues to help ensure its rapid disaster response capabilities.
